Ah yes, of course!  I get stuff... sometimes.   For whatever reason I 
was thinking of sales staff with IT knowledge, which seems to be lacking 
at all of these places.  I remember the days of going to a Circuit 
City/Best Buy/Comp USA looking for a specific video card compatible with 
BeOS (IMHO still the greatest desktop OS).  Although I had the list of 
compatible cards and did not ask for help, the cards were behind the 
counter and the sales person started arguing with me that I mean Win95 
version B... silliness like that.  Now I buy computer parts online and 
like most of us, do some research and buy consumer electronics wherever 
is cheaper.  Service is a non issue because I really don't think it 
exists anymore, at least not in these big stores.  All this stuff is 
disposable anyway.
