There are a lot of walls between the structures, and wireless signal will not reach that building with a single hop. I was going to set up either a wireless bridge OR use a larger antenna, when I had the idea of just installing another cable modem at the end of the coax in the guest house. Is this possible or am I better off setting up a wireless bridge?

Doug,

I would hazard a guess that Comcast would not allow you to use two modems with
one account. Each modem is a unique connection to their system, requiring a
unique account.

You could consider PowerLine Ethernet, or HomePlug, adapters. Provantange and
NewEgg have inexpensive TrendNet models for ~$33 each.

Even if you spent $75, that's cheaper than a wireless bridge and Yagi antennas.
