Today at the GUM we decided on a topic for the March 10, 2007 meeting
"How do I do that?". Inspired by the fact that many people end up
booting back into windows to accomplish tasks that have solutions in
Linux which they do not know about, we're taking this problem head on.
We're compiling a list of tasks, the application you'd use in Windows to
do it, and how you'd accomplish the same task in Linux.

We'll take a selection of these programs that highlight nifty features
of Linux and Free software and present them at the March 10th, 2007
meeting. This is a great meeting to show off some nifty features of
Linux and learn about some very cool applications.

However, we need your help. There are lots of things that people use
their computers for, and our list is far from complete. So, hop on over
to the Wiki, enter in tasks that you have problems doing, and we'll try
to find a way to do it in Linux. If you know how to do a task in Linux,
then please contribute to the page by filling in the cells in the table.
If you're willing to answer questions about or show on the March 10th
meeting how to use that Linux program, then put a link to your name in
the table cell.

If this whole business with Wiki editing is confusing, don't worry, send
your questions to me and I can add them to the page.

Thanks!
