I don't think you are reading this correctly. Ian wasn't actually the
one called a troll. I wasn't at the meeting where the cell phone
incident occurred, but nothing in Ian's post indicated that he was the
one whose cell phone went off. And, the 'one troll' that Patrick was
referring to was the person whose cell phone went off.

Now I can understand what Ian's saying that the anger directed toward
the cell phone person turned him off of the meetings. And that is an
absolutely rational and understandable response on Ian's part.

Personally, the thing I don't like about the WPLUG meetings is
different. I've often felt embarrassed to be a member of a group that
treats the speaker with so little respect. Cell phones, uncalled for
interruptions, lack of order.

I know I must sound like a fascist or something. This is founded purely
in my own self interest. The speaker gets interrupted, and is unable to
give as good a lecture. That means my time gets wasted, because I don't
get to hear what I came for -- a good speaker or seminar on some sort of
Linux related technology.

But back to Ian's point... personally, I don't get angry. I just find
other things to do on a Saturday.

That said, (and I might as well cross post this to -plan, but everybody
there reads this anyway), I'm still up for giving a talk on vi for as
long as anybody wants. I may start repeating myself or getting into the
nuances of the rogue-like command set if I have to go too long, though.

Anybody have any suggestions as to things they'd like included in the vi
'lightening talk', I'm all ears.

Mike
