I'll back that up.

I think we've all made the mistake of posting to a list in an inappropriate
manner.  And nobody out there teaches email etiquette that I've ever seen.

So, the point to such reminders is that there is such a thing as list
etiquette, and that it should be known and followed.

We should probably post links to some well-written rules on list
etiquette on the web site so we have something to direct people to.
