I'm hopeful there is some experience here with CinePaint,
DCRAW/UFRAW, etc... (I'm already using the latter).
It's already cake to insert the SD card into my HP Pavilion dv9000z's
built-in slot, or my desktop MicroATX's cube's $20 Mitsumi F400
series floppy+9-in-1 reader. So it's not about merely "connecting"
or "downloading" anything in Linux.
I was just hopeful there are some people doing a lot with their dSLRs
under Linux, like I'm slowly getting into the more I shoot 12-bit RAW
rather than just 8-bit JPEG (of which the Samsung IP/provided JPEG
processing in the Pentax K*D products is a little "soft" at times,
although clearly better than before the new, mid-2006).
I'm also surprised by the number of Canon XT[i] and Nikon D40[x]
owners I've met that just stuck with the lens kit and shoot JEPG.
They said they went dSLR mainly for the startup time over a Point'n Shoot.
