Original poster, make sure you dig this!  x86_64 != ia64!!!

(I know, the two types of ``!'' are confrusing... blame the language
designers)

AMD64 is substantially different from (market sez "better than")
Itanium.  Be careful in product research; CPU buying is a twisty maze
of passages, all alike.
