I have a Interact ProPad 6 (simple 6 button, 1 d-pad) gamepad.

   seen here
http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Interact_Accessories_InterAct_ProPad_6_P_228A

It use to work fine with my Debian box (currently running Etch, with
kernel 2.6.16-2-k7), but for other reasons, I had
removed it some time back. I recently wanted to but it back on, so I
went through and repeated the steps I had in the paste.

modprobe analog map=gamepad
modprobe fm801-gp
modprobe ns558

Things looked fine, but when I ran jstest /dev/input/js0 -- it did not
show up correctly.

after a bit more work, I find that during bootup, the gamepad, and the
gameport are being detected, but the gamepad is coming up as "Analog
4-axis 4-button joystick"

I have commented out the gameport, ns558, jodev, analog from my
/etc/modules file. but they are apparently still being loaded. I assume
buy hotplug, but adding those same modules to /etc/hotplug/blacklist did
not stop them from being loaded. The gamepad still gets detected as a 4
axis 4 button joystick.

I would like to hunt down WHERE this is happening, so I can tell it
exactly what the gamepad is, instead of the auto detect. Or I would
like to tell it not to auto detect, and I can load it when I need it.
But I don't know where to look.

I have pasted a few things below that I think might help, but if it is
not enough, just let me know. If anyone could give me some insight I
would trully apprciate it.
