[wplug] Need suggestion on how to respawn/restart program

Hi all,

Normally when I want a program to run and never die I just put it into inittab 
as a respawn.

I would like something I can have a bit more control over.
I want to be able to control a program (start/stop) but also have it 
automatically restart if it dies.

Similar to FireDeamon (on Windows) does.

I'm sure I could do an init script for the start/stop but how should the auto 
restart be done?
Monitor the PID?

Perhaps there is already an easy solution out there?
