Generally speaking, and for ordinary non-specialist use, I believe that 
USB is expected to give you better performance. However, for ordinary 
VoIP usage, you're not going to care.

The deciding factors for headsets appear to be robustness & cable length 
more than anything else. Ok, not quite. Get a brandname. Pay >$25 and 
you'll be fine.
