Actually -- according to *Proficient Motorcycling*: The Ultimate Guide 
to Riding Well by David L. Hough -- you are statistically less likely to 
get in an accident if you are wearing a helmet.  The helmet probably 
doesn't effect the odds, but the mindset of the rider probably does.
