[wplug] modprobe for a new module

I have built a new kernel module. If I do insmod /usr/local/lib/<path
to module> it gets inserted nicely and everything appears to be lovely.

How do I get this so it can be inserted by modprobe? Do I need to modify
modprobe.conf or something so it looks at the right location?

I tried moving to /lib/modules/<kernel version>/kernel/blah where there
are lots of other kernel modules, but that wasn't good enough. modprobe
couldn't find it.
