After I stopped using old Macs for sequencing, I started using a
PC joystick cable. I've never actually done much with is, as I usually
want like 4 complete MIDI busses -- or at least one per instrument. This
makes bulk-dumps, and pitch-wheel easier.
I just picked up two emusic MIDI interfaces, the Guitar Center in
(unholy) Monroeville has them for $29 -- which is a steal, if they
actually work. I haven't tested mine out yet, but I will in a day or two,
and can post my findings.
There are several packages for sequencing with Linux, though I
haven't tried any of them yet. Anyone else?
