I guess the first question I would have is:

*) Does the box/postfix use libresolv resolver(3) or does it do its own
    internal queries.
Yes.
*) Does your system use some Solaris-like nscd(8) name service cache
    daemon
Yes.
*) Can postfix to be configured to exec libexec/smtp processes as
arguments to ktrace/strace so that you can trace gethostbyaddr(3)
    calls.
Not sure, I'll try to find out more and post info.
*) Does tcpdump -n "port domain" even show DNS queries happening
Yes.

*) unterminated quote somewhere?
Yes, had a domain misspelled in mailman.

Thank you very much for the help. Seems like the server is working ok.
Current problem is that I must relay all mail through another machine
outside of my department. Now when I try to sendmail to my machine from
anywhere the mail message gets bounced with errors about too many hops.
There is nothing in my Box's postfix maillog, So Can I assume the mail
message are never getting there?

Thanks again, and in advance, Matt
