[wplug] Running Processes as non-root user

Hello everyone...

I have a home brewed web server that I do not trust but has run.  I have set
up a Solaris 10 Zone system for the server, only because I could not
successfully set up a chroot jail on linux. 

Question: 

1.  How (w/ Linux) can I as root, initiate a process as non-root user? I
would like to be able to do this at boot.  

2.  If anyone was able to successfully set up a chroot jail & is willing to
share set up notes or advice... I would forever be grateful.
