The repeated filename makes me suspect that it's not being mounted
as the right type of filesystem.  I'm not all that experienced with
video, but there is a Video CD (VCD) format out there that you
don't mount, you just point mplayer or xine at the raw device name
and it automagically figures out the rest.

Your best bet is probably to ask what program was used to burn the
disc.  That may help guide your search.
