Well, I'm no expert, but it seems that the x.org stuff is now "official" 
in the testing branch.  If you do an 'apt-get dist-upgrade' your setup 
should be upgraded to use x.org instead of XFree86.  But as I indicated, 
it wasn't quite as simple as a single command for me.

Still, it went remarkably smoothly.
