If I understood all of the articles I read awhile back, the Verizon
lobbied legislation in PA prohibits municipality "sponsored", "managed",
whatever, WiFi networks. They claimed that it would be unfair
competition because they would be competing with the government. If
anyone has more facts, or know where I could get them, please reply.
I am not a lawyer, so I could again be wrong, but I do not believe the
PA law(s) related to WiFi networks would prohibit a private group from
competing with Verizon. IMO, Verizon needs more competition in our in
Western PA.
