[wplug] got debian running but mouse problems

Hello,
I would first like to say thank you to all who helped
me. But I now have another question ok I have a
standard mouse that I just got with my new computer
and Debian isn't recognizing it. It is not usb and i
thought serial was that big thing so I chose p/s2 but
am not able to use the mouse. The Knoppix live cd
recognizes it as a p/s2 mouse any help.
