I have read Dvorak's column for years and have really respected his insights. I am used to him being firmly in the Microsoft camp, but Wow! He is ready to switch to Linux over Outlook Express:

Dvorak Online: Kill Outlook Express Now
Columnist John C. Dvorak thinks Microsoft's Outlook Express e-mail client is, after years of coding work by dedicated Redmondians, a hoary mess and needs to be put to death quickly. He rolls out a whole litany of complaints and asks you to add a few of your own. Read the tirade, then join in the fun in the forums.

He shares my frustration with the Outlook paradigm. I have been using both Outlook Express and Thunderbird at home since my Outlook died (Without warning, the pst file exceeded the size limit and stopped working. When I tried to fix it with some utility, it threw away most of my email). I have been leaning toward Thunderbird, but still using Outlook Express because I am not yet totally familiar with Thunderbird. I guess I had better speed up on my learning curve.

Actually, I wonder why Dvorak didn't mention OS X as his alternative OS.
