	All you need to do is receive one of these beacon broadcasts,
which contain the SSID, channel, WEP status, and other sundry parameters.  
These beacons are broadcast to all, you do not need to become a part of
the network in order to receive these -- you don't even need to send any 
traffic at all to gain this information, either!
