[wplug] A question of etiquette

Sometime in June Petrucci, Joseph assaulted the keyboard and produced:
| This is the first good point on this I have seen, If you want to delete a
| message because it isn't formatted the way you want then you may be
| missing out on learning something.
My mail client sticks me at the top of my email when replying. Then I begin
to prune the origianl message to get rid of the text which is unnecessary.
I don't believe this is very difficult and consider it to be polite and how
I would prefer to be treated.
See, now I'm replying to you and there is no context for the good point on
which you are commenting. That is unless I choose to include the oringinal
message you were replying to at the bottom.
| I realize this is a discussion group and not a Technical group but I also
| noticed the longest threads this month have been about things like
| "e-mail disclaimers" and "top-posting" instead of about Linux.
I would disagree with your statement that this is not a technical group. I
don't see that discussion and technical groups are mutually exclusive. I
would suggest that this list is both.

| Some of us have little choice but to use Outlook at work. I barely
| remember how I told it to always use plain text when posting to wplug.
| I know I can force it to bottom post, but then it insists the entire
| message is my content and the spell check has to go over other people's
| post. I frankly don't care enough to master Outlook just to solve one
| little pet peeve. $.02
