There are many arguments in favor of top-posting. Some of them are valid.

This one, however is the least valid, and the worst excuse ever.

It's like a cop saying, "The pistol I carry tends to go off when it's
pointed at children, it's not really something I have control of."

Or a motorist saying, "The car tends to swerve to the right when there
are pedestrians on the side of the road, it's not my fault."

In either of those cases, I think we (as a group) would become very upset
and insist that the [pistol|vehicle] be either repaired or replaced.

Granted, top-posting is not nearly as bad as child or pedestrain killing,
but the excuse is just as ridiculous.

If your software is forcing you to do something, then you are a slave to
your software. I suggest you try to escape, else you'll be a slave forever.

I'm not even bringing up your earlier argument, because it's not ridiculous.
And I'm not in the mood for debating the relative merits of reasonable
points today. However, I am in the mood for shooting down ridiculous
comments.
