Hello,

I forwarded this announcement here since I know that many of you are
sysadmins, even if that isn't your official job title.

Pittsburgh SAGE is a local chapter of sage.org that is just starting up
again. Please forward this invitation to any colleagues who may be
interested.

Thanks,
Beth Lynn

Subject: [pghsage-list] JULY MEETING ANNOUNCMENT

On Saturday, July 23, we'll have the long awaited talk about ETHICS.

----------
Has your job ever made you feel like you were between a rock and a
hard place? Ever been asked to do something you were uncomfortable
doing?

How do ethics play a part in the everyday life of an admin? Why has
SAGE been concerned enough to draft and approve a Code of Ethics?

Folks should be take a look at the proposed Expanded SAGE Code of
Ethics [available at http://www.sage.org/ethics.mm -- copies
will be available at the meeting].

We will walk through the Code and discuss it's parts. Theoretical
examples of ethical quandries we may face in our jobs will be
presented, and please feel free to bring your own situations, thoughts
and opinions. You may find that not all problems have a "correct"
answer to them.

----------

Join us at 1pm for some ice cream and conversation, then at 2pm we'll
start talking about ethics.

The meeting location is Newell-Simon Hall 1507 on the CMU campus.
Please see the PghSAGE website [www.pghsage.org] for a map and
directions, if needed.
