[wplug] DVD burning in Linux

I'm adding a server to my set of machines on my home network.  I'm 
wanting it to be able to burn DVDs.  I've never purchased a DVD burner 
before and would like to get one that will play nicely with Linux 
(Ubuntu is my plan for this server at the moment).

Anyone burning DVDs via Linux and advise me on a good burner choice?  
Also, what software do you use for burning?
