According to there web-site they also offer monthly plans for $12.00/month to $40.00/month or the $400.00/life plan. I did a whois on them and found there parent company is Cardigan industries a company run by Dean Allen a Canadian now living in france. Everything I found on him and the company on the web looks legit, but I didn't really dig into it so do your research before you get into anything.

As a host myself I have seen a ton of these type of companies and never once
considered them competition.

In short, I can't think of any that are still in business. I never heard of
this one, nor do I know anything about them.

It is a scam for most of them, get a few customers, make some quick money,
shut down. Who cares if you lost customers, you already got their money and
they will not provide future payments.

Start up under a new name, repeat.

There are plenty of places that offer that exact same thing for $10 - $15 a
month. The chance that that one company will be around in 2-4 years year
when you break even is very slim.

I ran across this the other day. <http://textdrive.com/vctwo/>
You pay $400 (one time) and get 1GB of space and 20GB of monthly
bandwidth, forever. Or at least as long as they stay in business.

I have no personal experience with them but have read some nice
things. They do seem to be oriented toward hosting blogs. And
they run FreeBSD. It doesn't look like a scam, but who knows if
they can stay in this for the long haul.

Anyway, thought some here might be interested. If not, ignore.
