I am replying to myself, yikes!  I forgot to mention that for a long time my mail and webserver were on a mac se running netbsd.  ended up retiring it because it was too slow and too small a hard drive.

I also have a mac duo.  linux on them?  no.  I ran linux on a powerbook in duel boot mode before os x.  OS X to me is the slickest desktop OS I have ever used.  I love that it is unix underneath and the gui and apple software works and is simple to use.  I do run puppy linux in a Virtual PC window just because it is cool.  My linux is installed on my intel pcs
