I put mandrake on a similar machine, though pcmcia started acting up
afterwards.... it was a 166mhz think pad, but the lack of intergrated
boot devices was a bit of a pain,  had ot pick up a floppy drive, to
boot fomr since it used a pcmcia cd room that wasn't bootible.
