I'm not sure how helpful this is to you since you are asking about MDK
but I use the Orinoco card in Fedora with no problems.  I've also used
it with the Knoppix and Ubuntu live disks. And a quick search of the
Mandrake website finds this changelog:
http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/changelog/rc2.txt which shows that the
Orinico drivers included in 2002 so I assume that their still there.
