If you can get a static IP for both you and your sister, you can set up
* to call directly to an IP via VoIP.  Depending on the ISPs at each end,
this may be fairly cost-effective.

If that doesn't work out numbers-wise, you may want to check in with the
* community.  You may find someone there who's willing to swap an Aussie
phone number for a US phone number.  Then you'd be out the cost of a
US phone line.
