[wplug] X issue

Hey all,

After X has been running for awhile, I am suddenly unable to launch
applications. I see it appear in the panel and look like it is starting
and then suddenly it disappears.  When I launch an application from a
console, I get the following message:


Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Maximum number of clients reached

(firefox-bin:17583): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:



At the time when I got this message, I didn't have a single other
application running.  Of course, if I kill X all is well for awhile.  

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this, or if something is
holding on to connections to X how do I see what exactly has a
connection to X?
