It's funny (to me) that so many people complain about that.  I found it
to be an interesting way to learn about the characters ... like continually
going into flashback.  It seems like that's the most commonly cited
problem with the original series, though (the ordering).

When the show originally aired, that was the first episode.  I remember
telling everyone how cool that scene was at the time, and people looked
at me and said, "Fire-what?  What's this about?  Never heard of it.  When
is it on?"
