[wplug] Woke up this morning to a noisy machine...hard drives?

I bought this:
http://www2.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16835150023

based on reviews and hearsay. It was replacing an almost unbelievably
loud fan, and so anything seems nice by comparison but it really is quite
silent. My loudest component now is a 6-year old hard drive (tested by
jamming screwdrivers in the fans to temporarily stall them -- probably not
a good idea, but it works).

The sound it does make is higher-pitch. Given the hard drive noise, I
can't even distinguish the CPU fan noise except with the case cover off.

Ask me again in a week or two when I've had a chance to overhaul my system
and dump the old HDD (and the unmentionable, proprietary OS).

I know, I said I'd do it weeks (months?) ago. But I'm serious this time.
