Sometime in April Kevin Squire assaulted the keyboard and produced:

| Dear Group,
| I was wondering 2 things:
| (1) What are some sites that you might use to "debug" a hoax?
| (besides a quick google search)

I search snopes.com using google:

search terms site:snopes.com

| (2) What are some of the tell-tale signs the you notice/use to separate
| the possibly true from the down right false? (besides the subject line
| being filled with "FWD:FWD:FWD:" )

Anything which seems too odd or strange to be true.

| Anything that I could use to help some of these parents become better
| "net-izens" would be appreciated.

As a general rule, you never forward anything unless you confirm it is
true. The site, snopes.com, will generally tell you if its true or not.

Like this one for exampel:
