Sometime in April Doug Green assaulted the keyboard and produced:

| Any other suggestions (other than a dremel tool) for removing the metal that
| encases the usb connector pins?

I'd try to avoid the dremel for two reasons. First it's hard, for me at
least, to get precise with a dremel. Secondly, and I think this is more
important, the dremel will create a lot of small pieces of metal which can
get into the drive and short out random things. I'd try using some pliers
with a cutting surface (diagonal cutting pliers for example). Snip on
either side of the housing and millimeter or two, roll the metal back, snip
another millimeter or two, roll it back some more, etc. Repeat that until
you've got enough metal off, then cut the excess metal off.
