IMHO: Option 1, most hosting companies already have Apache, PHP, MySQL and 
even PHPbb installed creating less work for you.
 One thing to watch for I've seen. Some hosts are not crazy about hosting 
even a semi-busy forum. 
 I've had great experiance with JaguarPC in the past.
