Also, of note (although I'm lacking a PPC box to test it on), is that
Ubuntu, the new debian based distro from Canonical (funded by Mark
Shuttleworth of Thawte and first African in space fame) supports PPC. 
I've been very impressed with Ubuntu for running my MythTV box.  It's
still debian in the core, but ships with more up to date software, like
Gnome 2.8 and a 2.6 series kernel.

It's an encouraging distro because so many of the GNOME, Python, and
Debian hackers being paid to work on it.
