The Ohio LinuxFest is a free event, open to all interested on a
first-come, first-served basis. The event will be hosted in Columbus,
Ohio, on Saturday, October 2nd, from 10:00AM until 6:00PM. Doors will
open at 9:00AM for registration and check-in, and there will be a one hour
lunch break. While this is a free event, registration is required so that
the planning team knows how many to expect. Full details and registration
information can be found at the event's website, at www.ohiolinux.org.

Linux is a free operating system that some say could eventually overtake
Microsoft Windows in installed market share. It is a UNIX-like operating
system, originally created by Linus Torvalds with the assistance of many
developers around the world. Developed under the GNU General Public
License, the source code for Linux is freely available to everyone.
Linux is commonly used to provide enterprise IT and computing services.

The event will cater to Linux professionals, experts, hobbyists, and new
Linux users, alike. Those who wish to learn more are welcome to attend,
and no prior knowledge of Linux is required to take part in the event.

This year's list of speakers includes representation from the Apache
Software Foundation, Red Hat, the Samba Team, Novell (SUSE), and more.
Industry guests of honor include Jon "maddog" Hall, Scott Collins of the
Mozilla Foundation and Trolltech, Jeremy Cole of MySQL, and many more.

The first-annual event drew people from throughout the Mid-West: Ohio,
Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Illinois.
This year will include more speakers, more topics, more people, and more
Linux discussion to enjoy. Free registration is available online.
