	Can't answer your questions on speed, etc - but I can tell you
that at every LinuxWorld event I've been privy to go to there are _tons_
of Debian geeks walking around with PowerBooks (including those
attaching via wireless).  It's all the rage to replace the apple logo
with a "Debian Swirl".  I would have to assume that they're pretty well
supported.
