[wplug] On the topic of wireless...

So this probably slightly off topic, but I figured while we were on the
topic of wireless this would be a good place to ask.

I'm in charge of building a wireless network for a conference in a
couple of weeks. The hotel has some wireless in the larger rooms, but
doesn't have wireless support in many of the meeting rooms. I need to
provide support for a couple of rooms that have ethernet jacks to hook a
WAP or WAP/Router into, and a few that don't.

I was thinking of just picking up five or six LinkSys WRT54G devices, as
I've had good luck with them in the past for my home network, plus
they're really hackable. I'm worried about how these guys will handle
many users (probably about 25-30 at a time, around 100 over the course
of a day).

Is there a reason why I need to go with the really expensive 3Com or
Lucent equipment? Or could I just get a couple of WRT54Gs on different
channels and have that work for wireless support?

Any additional advice would be appreciated.
