I've been wanting to check it out, but the lack of a root user account kind
of .... bothers me :)

Is it even possible to get to root? Or is it totally unneeded?

Yep and I really like it.
I wasnt a fan of the new artwork but according to the mailing list they
had a discussion and will not be using it for the default theme.

Other than that, I have had no problems with it at all.
