[wplug] network uptime monitor

Howdy.

I'm trying to troubleshoot some networking issues here and I wanted to
monitor when our network connection is lost. So basically I want to take
two points on either side of a network connection and log when they cannot
see each other. Can someone suggest some software which can accomplish
this?
