[wplug] Help su not working

I have a big problem.  I can not su.  I get "su:incorrect password".  I
know that I am typing the right password and it worked about an hour or so
ago.  Have I just been rooted?  How can I test to see what went wrong?
This is a RH 7.3 machine.
