[wplug] Linux sound

Dear J. Aaron Farr,

I recently read your question about Linux 5.1 surround at
http://www.wplug.org/pipermail/wplug/2002-October/003333.html , posted
October 2002.

I've just installed Linux (SuSE 9.0 to be precise) and I am trying
desperately to get 5.1 sound for my system working- at present only my
front two channels are working and I'm getting a tiny amount of audio
out of the back two (only noticed because I put my ear right up to one).
Did you ever get an answer to your question? If so, could you let me
know how you solved the problem?

Any help would be much appreciated.
