[wplug] Strange Samba question

Sometime in June Brandon Kuczenski assaulted the keyboard and produced:

is there anything in /var/log/samba/{log.smbd|log.machinename}?

normally when i'm trying to diagnose stuff like this i'll run tail on these
files and watch what pops up:

# tail -f /var/log/samba/log.smbd /var/log/samba/log.machinename
