Hello,

Western PA Linux Users Group will be hosting a General Users Meeting
featuring Cobind, a new Linux Distro made here right in Pittsburgh!
It will be held on this Saturday June 5th 2004 from 10am to 2 pm  at
Newell Simon Hall 1507. This meeting is free and open to the general
public.

Talk Abstract:
The Evolving Linux Landscape: From Miniscule To Mainstream

In this talk, Cobind, Inc. founders David Watson and Bryan Mills will
discuss how Linux's strengths and weaknesses will shape technology markets
and how Cobind's products help move Linux into the mainstream. The talk
will include demonstrations of Cobind's DiY Linux Tools, which enable
anyone to build their own custom Linux distribution, as well as a preview
of the upcoming Cobind Desktop 0.2 beta release. Cobind will offer a
T-shirt giveaway and free desktop CDs.

Speaker Bios:

David Watson has over ten years' experience in the commercial software
industry spanning mainframe, client-server, and web technology. He has
held a variety of positions at Mellon Financial (Executive Workbench),
Legent (Automation Point), Platinum Technology (Raveler), and Computer
Associates (MasterIT & NetworkIT). David holds a B.S. in Business
Administration from Duquesne University.

Bryan Mills has held software design positions at Metalsite, Scrapsite,
Management Science Associates, and Vesper Networks. Bryan holds a B.S. in
Computer Science and Mathematics from Bethany College, where he was
valedictorian of his graduating class. He is currently pursuing an M.S. in
Computer Science at the University of Pittsburgh.
