Here is the semi-regular update for the OPEN SOURCE PICNIC ON SUNDAY,
AUGUST 8, 2004.

Vance volunteered his 14" diameter tabletop charcoal grill for the
picnic. Thanks, Vance!

URGENT: We need to start handling ride-sharing. Anyone getting this
started? Anyone already started?

I need to get in contact with Beth Lynn, so I can add the location and
directions to this list. What good is a picnic if you don't know where
it is, eh?

I cleaned the list up a little bit. We won't be beating up on idiots,
unless they, y'know, throw frisbees at our heads, or something. Oh,
also, people don't like deserts very much. Leave your deserts at home.
But please bring desserts!

*What we need:
You. (C'mon over!)
A third grill for more meat or corn.
Desserts. Everyone likes desserts, so bring what you like.
Ride-sharing.
Folding chairs are encouraged.

*What the facilities offer:
Covered grove with seats and tables.
A pool. You need to pay to use it.
Basketball court.
A tennis court within walking distance.
Plenty of field space (for whiffleball and whatnot).
Swings and slides and other playground equipments (includes baby seats).
Bathrooms.

*What people are bringing:
**Jonathan Billings:
Grill, meat of various types.
**Dirk Kalp:
Corn on the cob, salt, butter, healthy margarine. Another grill for
non-meat, a whiffle ball and bat, perhaps a volleyball net.
**Beth Lynn Eicher:
A map to the event, ketchup, mustard, disposable tablecloths, rigatoni.
**Evelyn Chao:
Pop (cola, diet cola, non-cola), bowls for snacks.
**David Ostroske:
Potato chips, Foreman grill, board and dice and card games.
**Vance Kochenderfer:
Potato salad, a 14" charcoal grill.
**Mark Dalrymple:
Utensils, plates, napkins, flatware, paper towels.
**Markdude:
Fruit salad, frisbees, basketballs.
**Tom Rhodes:
A cake, a watermelon, and a machete.
