[wplug] X respawning too fast?

That's what's causing your problem. 'which kdm' shouldn't return an i/o
error. The /etc/X11/prefdm script runs a 'which kdm' to confirm that
you really have kdm installed. If 'which kdm' doesn't return a valid
result it will exit without doing anything.

Now as for why 'which' is broken... Good question. I assume it's broken
with every option you give it? You might want to check your path with a
'echo $PATH' to look for anything odd. Then 'strace which kdm' to see
where it breaks.

..snip..

[root at SS5 root]# which kdm
-bash: /usr/bin/which: Input/output error

and with just kdm I was able to logon using KDE.. Not the usual
graphical
logon screen though..
