[wplug] X respawning too fast?

What init is trying to do is start a display manager, which in turns
starts X. The display manager is what provides you with a login screen
and allows clients to connect to the X server, where as just doing a
'startx' will simply run X as the current user. What happens if you
type 'which kdm' and also a 'kdm'?

Hrm, RH9 here..

/etc/sysconfig/desktop contains
DISPLAYMANAGER="KDE"

At the risk of sounding dumb, what is the correct command to launch KDE?

If it is /usr/bin/share/kdeinit as I guessed then it too does nothing
when
run.
