I'll add to it too :)

For a couple years now my kids (who are currently in HS) have been using 
Linux for everything.  They've figured out how to customize the desktop, 
access their mp3 jukebox, access their digital camera, use OO for school 
reports, (ab)use gaim, etc etc.  My wife too but she's primarily using 
Mozilla and Evolution.
